In it's first season it was called "Taxi Jam", but the ride was renamed with the 2005 Nickelodeon Central expansion. It is a Miler Kiddy Coaster but don't let that fool you.

Nighthawk orginally opened in 2000 at Great America(California) as Stealth, the world's first flying coaster. Nighthawk replace the Carolina Sternwheeler paddlewheel boat ride that had operated for 30 years.

For Carowinds' 30th season, Carowinds got a standard Mack Wild Mouse rollercoaster in 2002 along with the retheme of Blue Ridge Junction to Carolina Boardwalk.

Runaway Reptar™ is a inverted junior roller coaster manufacted Vekoma, it is located in the Nickelodeon Central section of Carowinds.

Thunder Road
Thunder Road is two separate tracks that race side by side. The ride originally had a moonshine theme, and custom trains, with one train being Sheriff and one train being Outlaw.
Thunder Road will be closed temporarily for the 2008 season. We hope that Carowinds gets both sides of Thunder Road back into operation soon!

Vortex
In 1992 a Vortex landed at Carowinds, with only standing room left Vortex hurlers you down a 91 foot drop and into a huge loop.
