The Ghosts Of Carowinds' Past (Page 3) The Jalopies Station
Beep-Beep! Look at that old car, lets ride that it looks like fun. I am talking about the Hillybilly Jalopies that were located where White Water Falls is today, The station for the Jalopies now serves as the que building for White Water Falls. Other than this and maybe the walkway, this is the only remain left from the old Jalopies. A Jalopy is a antique car that is in bad shape. The Plantation Square Train Station
This remain is the easiest to see even if you do not know where to look. Under the big arched bridge in Paramount Plaza is the Plantation Square train station, you can also see where the train's railroad tracks used to be. The platform looks as if it is nothing but it was the platform. The steps and flower beds should make this one easy to spot. Frontier Outpost Train Station
The Carowinds train station was located in the area known as Frontier Outpost, but in 1977 the railroad was removed for the construction of White Lightnin'. The area is now known as Carolina Boardwalk, the train station looks very different now, as it now serves as the Carolina Cove and Motorheads giftshops. When it was the train station, it was a building with a no walls, and a roof. when the railroad was removed, it was enclosed. Click here to look deep in the near past.
