    Wipeout! Tower
The wipeout tower was originally used for the Racing Rivers freefall waterslide that replaced White Lightnin' in 1989, and closed in 1996. I remember riding Racing Rivers, I am too old.
    Stolen-The Whirling Dervish
In 1978, Carowinds opened a true classic flat ride, the Whirling Dervilish. It was a wave swinger ride built by Zierer. The ride spins and the swings fly out. The Whirling Devilish lasted 22 years at Carowinds, in 2001, I entered the park on opening day to find my favorite gone. It's replacement a upcharge ride that is now closed. Everything but the ride is still there, queue fence and cover. The Whirling Devilish was moved to Paramount's Great America in 2001. The ride area was used in October 2004 for a maze at SCarowinds.
    From Theatre to dark ride
New in 2001 was Scooby-Doo's Haunted Mansion, an interactive dark ride thru a southern plantation. The price for Scooby-Doo's Haunted Mansion, Harmony Hall, the park's second indoor theatre. Harmony Hall opened with the park in 1973. The building itself now looks totally different then it did before the Haunted Mansions I never seen the inside of Harmony Hall but I know it was used for the Graveyard Shift show. Scooby-Doo is no where as nice looking as Harmony Hall.
