  • The Ghosts Of Carowinds' Past
As Paramount's Carowinds grows older and bigger, the park loses parts of its past. Thirdly-one years have past since the park opened in 1973, and twenty-nine since the park was sold to Paramount Parks(formally Kings Entertainment Company). Carowinds was inspired by three parks, they are Six Flags Over Georgia, Disneyland, and (Six Flags) AstroWorld. The park started losing its "beauty" in the mid-nineties, however, some remains can still be found in the park of all kinds can seen.
    The Carolina Queen Riverboat
In 1973, the Carolina Queen opened as a ride located around the island in the center of the park. In August 2003, the river the riverboat paddles around the island in, was partly filled-in to make way for a new used rollercoaster that would be relocated from Paramount's Great America in California. The riverboat will turned into a gift shop, and docked on the other side of the park. Sadly, the queen is no longer the queen at Paramount's Carowinds, and the riverboat did not see Carowinds in 2004.
    The Old Skyway Parts
In front of the Carolina Goldrusher close to the first helix is an old concrete footer, that footer used to support the Cable Skyway, and hasn't been used since the 1980's. Along with the footer remains the stations that currently are being used for as a giftshop and a decore rack. The Frontier Outpost station is being used as the sign rack for Outer Hank's, while the old Queen Colony station has been turned into The Nickelodeon Store.
